Southern Educational Robotics Conference

The Southern Educational Robotics Conference (SERC) is a professional learning event hosted by the Southeastern Center of Robotics Education (S.C.O.R.E.) at Auburn University. Designed for educators across the Southeast, SERC brings together teachers, instructional leaders, and outreach professionals to explore effective, classroom-ready approaches to robotics and STEM education.

SERC emphasizes practical strategies, hands-on learning, and meaningful connections between robotics instruction and student engagement across grade levels and learning environments.

SERC is designed for educators and professionals who support STEM learning, including:

  • K–12 classroom teachers

  • Robotics club sponsors and coaches

  • Instructional coaches and curriculum specialists

  • School and district administrators

  • Informal educators and outreach professionals

No prior robotics experience is required. Sessions are structured to support both educators new to robotics and those seeking to expand or refine existing programs.

Participants can expect a full day of learning that blends instruction, exploration, and collaboration. Conference programming may include:

  • Hands-on workshops with classroom-tested robotics platforms

  • Sessions focused on integrating robotics into core academic content

  • Discussions on equity, access, and sustainability in STEM education

  • Opportunities to connect with fellow educators and S.C.O.R.E. staff

The conference emphasizes practical takeaways, educator collaboration, and strategies that work across diverse school contexts.
