Summer Camps

S.C.O.R.E. stands for the Southeastern Center of Robotics Education at Auburn University. S.C.O.R.E. provides K–12 robotics education resources and programming throughout Alabama, including student programs, teacher professional development and public outreach activities focused on coding and robotics.

S.C.O.R.E. Summer Camps are STEM enrichment programs for K–12 students. Camp participants explore science, technology, engineering and math through hands-on activities using robotics platforms, 3D printers, Raspberry Pi devices and other technologies. Students design and build robots, create digital models and develop problem-solving, collaboration and technical skills in an engaging learning environment.

S.C.O.R.E. Summer Camps are ideal for students who enjoy working with technology, solving problems or exploring science and engineering concepts. Camps are appropriate for students with a wide range of experience levels, from beginners to those with prior robotics exposure.

Yes. Camps are organized by grade level to ensure appropriate educational and social experiences for all participants. To maintain program integrity and a positive learning environment, students are placed only within their designated grade-level group.

All S.C.O.R.E. camp instructors, counselors and staff are selected through a rigorous application and screening process in accordance with Auburn University camp personnel policies. Staff members have experience working with K–12 students and have completed required background checks.

S.C.O.R.E. Summer Camps are led by university outreach staff and experienced educators with expertise in robotics education. Camps take place on Auburn University’s main campus and feature small class sizes, allowing for individualized instruction. The typical staff-to-student ratio is approximately 1:7, providing a structured yet flexible learning environment.

Camp fees typically include:

Camp tuition and registration fees are set annually. Current pricing and payment deadlines are posted during the registration period. A non-refundable registration fee is required at the time of registration, and full payment is due by the published deadline.

Families registering for multiple camp sessions may make multiple payments, provided all tuition is paid in full by the published deadline. Unpaid registrations may be released to students on the waitlist.

A limited number of scholarships may be available for students from underrepresented populations who demonstrate financial need. Families may also wish to explore sponsorship opportunities through community organizations. Camp participation may qualify as a childcare service for tax purposes; families should consult a tax professional for guidance.

If a camp session is full, families may request to be placed on a waitlist. Families will be notified if a spot becomes available.

No. S.C.O.R.E. Summer Camps are day camps only. No overnight lodging is provided

Camps generally run during standard daytime hours on weekdays. Daily schedules include structured STEM instruction, hands-on activities, lunch and outdoor play. Specific times and drop-off and pick-up locations are shared with registered families prior to camp.

• The registration fee is non-refundable.

• Full refunds, minus the registration fee, are available if cancellation occurs before the published refund deadline.

• Partial refunds may be available if cancellation occurs after the full-refund deadline but before the session start date.

• No refunds are issued within two weeks of the camp start date.
